Research and hands-on experience are different
Research-based guides draw on identified sources such as manufacturer manuals, specifications, and retailer information. They are labeled as research-based when discussing equipment we have not tested. Hands-on reviews identify the exact equipment used, how it was obtained, the testing period, and the relevant conditions. We do not invent testing experience or measurements.
What we compare
We consider the complete setup cost, daily preparation and cleaning routine, usable counter space, drink preferences, and service or warranty information for the relevant region. We explain the strongest limitations as well as benefits. Manufacturer claims are attributed; unknown details remain identified as unknown.
How recommendations are supported
A recommendation should state who the equipment suits, who should choose something else, and the evidence behind that judgment. Specifications alone do not establish cup quality, noise, or long-term reliability. Short tests do not prove durability.
Affiliate links and supplied equipment
Articles with paid links disclose that relationship before the relevant recommendations. Any supplied equipment or sponsored arrangement must also be disclosed. A commission should not determine the verdict, and a paid relationship does not remove the need to describe drawbacks.
Sources, updates, and corrections
Equipment articles should identify exact model versions and link to supporting sources. Prices and availability can change; check the retailer before purchasing. An updated date should reflect a meaningful review of the article. Material corrections should be explained in an update note.
